Beacon Street Tavern

Let's Eat by Kitty Kaufman

Our Sunday night supper club's other eater has been insisting we branch out to new places. New for us, that is. So we did. Beacon Street Tavern's menu leans to bar food we think is pricey for what it is. It's also dark but then, it's a bar. Service is prompt. We got hamburgers (); the fries were okay.

If you go for bar snacks, they have deviled eggs, mac and cheese, grilled cheese, turkey chili, Caesar salad (-) and then baked brie with apple and pear; Bibb and pear salad, and arugula with grilled apples (-). If you like wings, tips turkey and steak, tacos, pizza, pulled pork, fish and chips, and roast chicken, all here (-). One special last night was scallops with cauliflower (). Pizzas are -. Maybe they should pick . . . tavern or American artsy.

Beer! Pizza. Coulda, shoulda. Update April 23: We see that the Tavern is no more. There's a sign that a Mexican Cantina is on its way in.
