Osaka is one block off Beacon Street, one store off Harvard Ave and near everything.

We are big fans of sushi lunch. (Before you go, check their hours.) It's light, bright and goes down easy. So when Osaka opened we said, "Let's go." Lunch specials, 11:30-3:30 pm, come inside (all the usual) and outside the box. You won't be disappointed.

Outside the box is a sushi lunch with five pieces, one roll, soup and salad. It's more than enough for me. The salad is ice cold, the soup hot hot, and the fish is just off the boat: tuna, sake, hamachi, unagi, toro, ebi. We like the room with its big windows and shiny floor. No, we haven't tried the steak side but it's busy.

Osaka is full service: soups (miso, tofu, tom yum, seafood), salads (duck, tuna, lobster), appetizers (beef asparagus, Chilean sea bass, rock shrimp, grilled mussels), special rolls (godzilla, volcano, crouching tiger, naruto, rainbow, dynamite)a la carte, chef's specials. On the steak side: Hibachi dinners with meat and fish.

14 Green Street has had a couple of tenants in the last 15 years. It looks like these guys are here to stay. When you're on the road, visit their Northampton, MA location.

P.S. Osaka is my favorite Japanese. The owners are there every day. They remember what you like even after being closed for eight months. I am glad they're back.
